Apple Paper Painting in progress

Apple Paper Painting in progress. I took the Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson’s Paper Painting class last week at the Yates County Arts Center in Penn Yan, NY. On the first of three days we watched a slide presentation of her pictures and techniques and then she did a demonstration of techniques for painting papers. Day two we tried our hand at it….mostly using our gelli plates. Have you ever used a gelli plate?  Day three….We practiced the “painting” part on our apple underpainting that was prepared before we got to class. I also started my second paper painting of a bike. Boy! I have a lot to learn! I am not very good at the ripping of the paper part. This is the apple piece I am currently working on. Check out what my work table looks like when I am creating this piece. Its a MESS! A BIG CREATIVE MESS and I LOVE IT!
